On the contrary, a lack of confidence may deter you from believing your actions or decisions will later work out the way you had planned. Are you always putting yourself down? Well if so then you may have an issue with your confidence. Low self esteem or a lack of self confidence is something that affects many people throughout their lives, so it is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact hundreds of leading personalities and even world leaders at one time suffered at the hands of a lack of self confidence. For many years people have been using Hypnosis and Self Hypnosis to beat their low self esteem and enjoy new found confidence &#8211; but does it really work?<br />
Hello my name is Richard MacKenzie and I am a clinical hypnotherapist and also the author of a book called Self-Change Hypnosis, which is a book that helps people with many things, including gaining confidence. Now I guess that you have realised that from my introduction and the fact that I am a hypnotherapist that my answer to the question about hypnosis &#8216;does is really work?&#8217; may be a little biased, so instead I want to tell you &#8216;why&#8217; is works.<br />
Hypnosis works by re-programming the part of your brain that we refer to as your sub-conscious mind. When you have a lack of self confidence of low self esteem, you run a series of beliefs, habits and programs through your conscious and sub-conscious minds that allow you to feel its effects. Hypnosis changes all that by changing the way that you think, feel and act towards yourself. With hypnosis you can achieve so much in the area of building your confidence, self worth and self esteem. Once the sub-conscious part of your mind has been re-programmed then you will naturally feel great &#8211; oozing with confidence and self belief.<br />
While in the state of hypnosis, you will feel relaxed and secure. It is a great chance to just let go from the stresses of the world and just have some YOU time! In fact you will probably love the feeling of being in hypnosis that you will want to practise it regularly as it is a really great and unique feeling to experience. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our society is in some ways becoming increasingly isolated and individualised, leading to less worthwhile personal connectivity between us humans. In some cases this is not always a bad thing; however the decreased amount of human interaction could be a potential problem over time. It is my opinion that we are already seeing the effects of this in the west. With a decrease in interaction with other humans from many different back grounds we run the treat of losing some of our most valuable communication skills and in a lot of cases, don&#8217;t even build the experiences to acquire them in the first place.<br />
So, what happens if we lose out on life experiences and building the skills that they can help up to attain? Well with a reduced amount of human interaction and lack of constructive communication we can feel self conscious when we are put into certain situations when we are older. As a hypnotherapist I help a large amount of people with things such as social confidence or social phobia. Nearly always it is presented to me by the client that they feel that they just don&#8217;t fit in, that their opinion just doesn&#8217;t count and that they wish just to remain in the background &#8211; well at least until we have successfully treated them. This is quite a common situation and something that I help clients with on a daily basis.<br />
So, a lack of communication and human connectivity or interaction can lead to confidence and self esteem problems. If this is the case for you, what can you do about it? You can boost your confidence in many ways; however it is always best to consider the most effective root, so that you can resolve the issue as soon as possible. Think about where you notice your lack of confidence, as it almost certainly will not affect you all of the time. There may be some friends that you feel fine with and it may be just meeting new people. You might experience confidence issues at work or while playing sports. Once you know where a lack of confidence or low self esteem is going to rear its ugly head you are better placed to deal with it successfully.<br />
Once I have helped a client to do this I generally use hypnosis and self hypnosis to tackle these areas specifically, and assist the client to gain confidence just where they know that it will be needed. This works as with hypnosis you can simply reprogram the part of the brain that we refer to as your sub-conscious mind and have it generate confidence in the areas that you want and need it in. </p>

I have listed some tips below for all those of you that want to get a little more confidence when it is needed. Follow one, two or all of them and watch your confidence start to grow.<br />
1. Think fitness and health&#8230; Healthy body, healthy mind! Keeping yourself fit and healthy will keep you feeling happy and confident. Eating the right things at the right times will certainly help you to feel the way that you want to feel. It is great for your waistline too, which is ultimately good for your confidence also.<br />
2. Mind your inner talk&#8230; What you think about yourself is so important with regards to the way that you feel and just how confident you are. Don&#8217;t rubbish yourself in any way when you are thinking or talking about yourself. Say things like &#8216;I would love to learn how to do that&#8217; instead of saying &#8216;I can&#8217;t do it&#8217;.<br />
3. Create a new you&#8230; A change in appearance can always help to boost your confidence and make you feel great. The way that you dress, act and look is part of your communication to the world around you. If you look and feel fantastic then that&#8217;s how others will see you too!<br />
4. Change career&#8230; You may find that your current job is causing you a lack of confidence. If this is so then grab hold of the fact that you set the limit on what is impossible. This means that if you want to find a new job then you can choose to be whatever you want to be. Sure it might take a bit of work, but if you really want it then, isn&#8217;t it worth the effort?<br />
5. What is so good about you..? Make yourself a list of all of your good points. Are you a good listener, advice giver, hard worker or good friend? List down all of your achievements &#8211; things that may have happened in your education, your career or your social and family life.<br />
6. Make new friends&#8230; Surround yourself with positive friends that encourage the best in you. Happiness and positive attitudes are contagious, so by surrounding yourself with confidently happy people you will feel more confident too.<br />
I really hope that this article has been of some help to you and has given you some ideas to go away and actually use to build your confidence. </p>
